19" Ceramony Drum. Heavy Drum and stand hand crafted by Peta Wicasa for Fire Ceremony
This drum is hand crafted in a good way by master drum and flute maker Peta Wicasa. This drum has over 100 hours of crafting. Its very nature is a very unique story. This drum was created by a cherry tree and a maple tree that were both in a burn pile actually on fire when Peta asked the bulldozer operator to pull them from the engulfing flames. He brought them home to his sawmill, still smoking and cut it into slabs. He then salvaged the useable pieces of these trees to build multiple drums and flutes. The drum is covered in a buffalo hide gathered by a native tribal member in northern Montana. This drum is 19” in width and 21” in height. The drums created by Peta all have a unique design. The larger format drums all have 28 rim pieces that are purposely made in that number to represent the full circle of a month in Native American traditional calendars. It also comes with a heavy duty stand and twin beaters. This drum is heavy and very loud.
